Multi Award-Winning Skin Clinic – It's Not About The Trophy

It’s only February, but we have just submitted two entries for the Best in Skin Awards.

Our ABIA and Dermaviduals applications are in draft on my laptop - half written, notes everywhere.

The City of Casey Business Awards will come later in the year.

And around this time, without fail, someone asks

“Why do you enter awards?”

Here’s the honest answer.

It’s not for the trophy.

It’s not for the photo.

Not for the press.

And it’s definitely not for the ego.

We Already Reflect - But Awards Make Us Zoom Out

At SANA, reflection isn’t something we save for once a year.

We have weekly team check-ins.

We review client journeys in depth.

We celebrate wins - sometimes visible, sometimes subtle.

We refine systems.

We recalibrate when something feels off.

Growth is built into our every day.

But entering awards forces a different kind of pause.

It requires us to gather the entire year - the case studies, the internal shifts, the education we invested in, the growth we had, the culture we strengthened, the standards we upheld quietly - and see it all in one place.

And every time, there’s that moment:

“Wow. We’ve actually done and achieved a lot”

Not arrogant and flashy - but real, aligned, Intentional and Significant.

When you’re busy doing meaningful work every day, it’s easy to take for granted just how much goes into it.

Awards give us the structured space to step back and acknowledge the body of work.

And that matters.

The Awards We Choose & Why

There are countless awards. We’re intentional about the ones we enter and grateful to the one's that acknowledge our work.

Best in Skin Awards celebrate professional skin therapists across Australia and recognise documented transformation journeys — depth, integrity, and long-term outcomes. They honour process over trends. That’s why they resonate with us.

ABIA — Australian Beauty Industry Awards are the largest and most recognised beauty industry awards across Australia and New Zealand. They assess the business as a whole — leadership, culture, systems, client experience, innovation and sustainability. It’s not just about results. It’s about how you operate.

Dermaviduals Clinic Awards recognise clinics who truly embody corneotherapy principles — customisation, barrier repair, education and clinical integrity. For us, this isn’t branding language. It’s our daily practice. We are excited about this one as it hasn't taken place since Covid.

City of Casey Business Awards celebrate local businesses making meaningful contributions to their community. We’re proud of our industry presence — but we’re equally proud to be deeply rooted locally.

We don’t enter everything. We enter what aligns.

Last Year Looked Different

Last year, we chose not to enter ABIA or made the weekend trip to Sydney for the awards and Beauty Expo.

We were in a season of internal recalibration - refining pathways & systems, strengthening culture, resetting foundations. It didn’t feel aligned to push outward when we were doing important inward work.

That decision mattered.

Because awards, for us, aren’t about visibility for visibility’s sake.

They have to feel earned. Grounded. Honest.

This Year Is Personal

This year, we submitted two Best in Skin entries.

One celebrates an extraordinary client journey - the kind that takes patience, setbacks, commitment and trust. The kind of work we quietly specialise in.

The other one is mine.

Submitting my own skin journey felt vulnerable.

It’s not a polished “after” story - it shows flare-ups, frustration, and the discipline required to stay consistent when progress isn’t linear.

But that’s the truth about skin.

If we ask our clients to trust the process, to stay patient, and to look deeper than surface symptoms, then I need to stand in that too — not just as a practitioner, but as a person.

That entry isn’t about me.

It’s about honouring trust.

Why We Keep Entering?!

These awards aren’t something you get nominated for - we choose to enter.

Which means carving out time to gather evidence, document real client journeys, reflect honestly, and hold ourselves accountable to the standards we promise every single day.

The submissions aren’t just about us - they’re built on you as our client, your commitment, your consistency, your trust in the process. They represent what we’ve created together.

Writing them sharpens us.

It brings clarity to what we’ve delivered.

It reinforces the values we live by.

It reminds us of the impact we made..

And yes - when the time comes, we absolutely enjoy dressing up, catching up with industry peers, flying to Sydney, learning, being inspired, and celebrating the people who are pushing our industry forward...

We love that part too.

But the real value isn’t the gala night.

It’s this - the reflection, the accountability, and the quiet pride in knowing we held up integrity, let our valued lead us and that the work holds up when you put it on paper.

A Final Note

If you’ve read this far, you’ll know this isn’t written by a marketing team.

It’s written by me - Christine, Owner and Founder of SANA Skin Clinic.

Before I wrap up, I want to say THANK YOU.

To our team - for the above-and-beyond care you deliver daily. For the integrity you hold. For your commitment to education, refinement and growth. You are the standard.

To our clients - for your trust. For your consistency. For staying the course and for your support in allowing us to share your journeys so others can feel less alone.

To our industry peers - many of whom have become genuine friends - thank you for the collaboration, the humility, and the shared drive to improve our industry as a whole. You inspire us more than you know.

To our mentors, our integrative partners, and the organisers behind every award platform - thank you for creating spaces that elevate standards and encourage excellence.

None of us grow in isolation.

We grow because we challenge each other.

We refine because we stay connected.

We lead because others lead alongside us.

Awards don’t define us. But the process of entering them reminds us why we do this work in the first place.

And that pause is something I’ll never take for granted.

Christine
