FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS

We know skin can feel confusing, especially when you have tried multiple things without clear answers.

These are the questions we are most often asked about skin health, the SANA Method, our treatments and how we work.

Understanding Your Skin
Why is my skin not improving even when I am doing everything right?

If your skin is not improving, it usually means something influencing it has not been clearly identified.

Many people are already using good products, trying treatments and following advice, but without understanding what is actually driving their skin, results can feel inconsistent or short term.

At SANA, we look at your skin in full context so we can understand what is contributing to it and create a plan that makes sense.

What makes SANA different from other skin clinics?

At SANA, we do not treat skin based on what is visible alone.

We assess your skin in full context, including its history, internal influences, treatment readiness and lifestyle factors. This allows us to create a structured plan that is personalised, targeted and designed for long term results.

What is the SANA Method?

The SANA Method™ is our structured approach to skin health.

It follows five key stages: Context, Clarify, Restore, Correct and Sustain. This allows us to understand what is driving your skin, support it properly and introduce treatments at the right time for results that hold.

Treatments and Skin Concerns

Do I need a skin analysis before starting treatment?

Yes. A skin analysis is the best place to start.

It helps us understand what is influencing your skin, what may have been missed and what your skin actually needs. This gives us the clarity to create the right plan from the beginning.

Can you help if I have tried everything?

Yes. Many of our clients come to us after feeling frustrated by inconsistent results.

Often, the issue is not a lack of effort. It is that the right factors have not been identified or addressed in the right order.

Do you treat acne and hormonal breakouts?

Yes. We support a wide range of acne concerns, including persistent, hormonal, adult and inflammatory acne.

Our approach may include clinical skincare, targeted treatments, naturopathy and internal support depending on what is relevant to you.

Can you help with rosacea, redness or sensitive skin?

Yes. We regularly support clients with sensitivity, redness, rosacea, barrier damage and inflammation.

A big part of our process is restoring skin function first, so treatments can be introduced safely and effectively.

Can you help with pigmentation and melasma?

Yes. We support concerns such as pigmentation, post-inflammatory marks and melasma, but this is often one of the more complex skin concerns to treat.

Results can vary depending on the type and depth of pigmentation, your skin’s individual triggers, and how consistently your plan is followed.

Our focus is on understanding what is contributing to it, supporting the skin properly, and creating a treatment plan that is realistic, considered and designed for the best possible long term outcome.

Do you treat teenagers or clients under 18?

Yes. We support many teenagers and younger clients with concerns such as acne, congestion, sensitivity and barrier issues.

For clients under 18, we take a considered and age-appropriate approach, with a parent or guardian involved throughout the process.

Our focus is on understanding what is influencing the skin early, so we can support it in a way that is safe, realistic and sustainable.

Internal Support and Whole Body Health

Can internal health affect my skin?

Yes. Internal factors such as hormones, gut health, inflammation, stress and nervous system dysregulation can all influence how skin behaves.

Where relevant, we consider these factors as part of your overall plan.

Do you offer naturopathy for skin concerns?

Yes. Our naturopathy support is available where relevant to help address internal factors contributing to acne, inflammation and other ongoing skin concerns.

This is always tailored to your individual needs and never added unnecessarily.

Do you offer nervous system support for skin concerns?

Yes. For some clients, stress, overload and nervous system dysregulation can impact skin function and healing.

Where relevant, we offer support to help regulate the nervous system as part of a more complete treatment approach.

Getting Started

Can I work with SANA if I do not live in Melbourne?

Yes. We work with clients both in-clinic and Australia-wide through our online consultations and signature programs.

This allows us to guide your skin with the same level of structure and support, wherever you are based.

Do I need to be on a program?

No. Our signature programs are an option for clients who want more structure, added benefits and flexible payment options.

They are not essential to access care at SANA.

How long will it take to see results?

This depends on your skin, what is influencing it and how consistent your plan is.

Some clients notice changes early, while others require a more gradual process. Our focus is always on creating results that are sustainable, not rushed.

How do I know what treatment I need?

You do not need to know that before coming in.

Our role is to assess your skin properly, identify what is most relevant and guide you through the right steps in the right order.

Where is SANA Skin Clinic located?

SANA Skin Clinic is based in Berwick in Melbourne’s south-east.

We support clients locally and Australia-wide through both in-clinic and online care.

How do I get started?

The best place to start is with an Advanced Skin Analysis.

This gives us the clarity to understand your skin properly and guide you in the right direction from the beginning.
